¿Siempre se Tiene que Extraer la Membrana Limitante Interna (MLI) en los Procedimientos Quirúrgicos de Ciertas Afecciones Retinales? ¿Por Qué Si/No?

Abstract

Objetivo: Es nuestro objetivo clarificar la indicación o no de la extracción quirúrgica de la Membrana Limitante Interna (MLI) según revisión bibliográfica en diferentes patologías retínales. Antecedentes: No está claro si este paso, el peeling de la MLI es crítico, conveniente o importante en la resolución de diferentes patologías retinales. Como tampoco su beneficio en el resultado visual final. Conclusión: Según nuestro review bibliográfico no es en todas las patologías mencionadas recomendable o determinante su realización, en lograr un buen resultado tanto visual como anatómico. La afección en la cual es más clara su indicación es la del agujero macular. Importancia Clínica: Analizamos la utilidad del procedimiento quirúrgico en ciertas afecciones maculares como en el agujero macular y otras. No sería indicativo su realización en el pucker macular por default. En el edema macular diabético, desprendimiento de retina y retinosquisis, los resultados no son concluyentes.
