La discapacidad visual ya es un problema de salud pública en la actualidad y se incrementará en un futuro de acuerdo con las tendencias internacionales. Es importante concientizar e involucrar a todos los profesionales de la salud visual para que incidamos positivamente y contribuyamos a abatir este problema. El presente artículo hace una aproximación a este tema tan relevante, mostrando estadísticas nacionales e internacionales que reflejan su importancia.
