Objetivo: Reportar las diferencias en los cambios vasculares retinianos entre enfermedad plus y cambios vasculares retinianos secundarios a enfermedades cardiacas congénitas.
Métodos: Se revisaron 30 casos clínicos, estudios y revisiones en los cuales se reportaban cambios vasculares retinianos en enfermedades cardiacas congénitas.
Conclusiones: La enfermedad Plus y las cardiopatías congénitas pueden presentar tortuosidad vascular, especialmente la cardiopatía congénita cianótica (CC), pero la principal diferencia es que el diámetro de dilatación venular se presenta significativamente aumentado en la enfermedad de Retinopatía del Prematuro (ROP, por sus siglas en inglés) plus. Distinguir entre enfermedad plus y cambios vasculares por CC es crucial para el tratamiento adecuado, ya que estas condiciones requieren manejos diferentes. La investigación adicional en este campo es necesaria para mejorar la precisión diagnóstica y terapéutica en estas patologías.
