Abstract

La Tomografía de Coherencia Óptica (OCT, por sus siglas en inglés), ha sido muy limitada en patologías de retina periférica. Este articulo muestra también, que podemos estudiar con mayores detalles la retina periférica, saliendo de nuestra zona de confort que estaba reducida solo al polo posterior. Se realizó, como guía, toda la documentación de las diversas lesiones periféricas con un Retinógrafo de Campo Ultra Amplio (Clarus 700 Zeiss, Alemania), mostrando las diferentes características de las lesiones en los diferentes filtros de color (azul, verde, rojo). Posteriormente se realizó OCT (Zeiss, Cirrus 5000, Alemania) de las lesiones periféricas (la mirada del paciente se orientó en la dirección deseada con la cabeza ligeramente girada hacia el área de la lesión periférica a ser examinada). Pasamos a considerar las degeneraciones retinianas periféricas basadas en la profundidad de los cambios retinianos observados en el OCT: 1) Degeneraciones Intra – Retinianas, 2) Vítreo - Retinianas, 3) Corío–Retinianas, según Venera A. Shaimova et al.(3) Con esta técnica, se logró obtener imágenes de alta calidad en diferentes lesiones periféricas, como son: Retinosquisis senil plana, oscuro sin presión, blanco sin presión y degeneración en copos de nieve, que serán descritas en esta primera entrega de 3, de acuerdo a la clasificación arriba descrita.
